Family archives can hold an abundance of memories, with the intention of being passed down through generations. They allow us to recall our memory, relive special occasions, and share personal experiences with our loved ones. However, with the rise of digital albums, the once meaningful tradition of organising physical photographs into treasured albums has diminished. Through my dissertation project, I revisited the locations significant to my family’s history, exploring the themes of nostalgia, memory, and the value of family albums, with the goal of encouraging a renewed appreciation for their tactile nature.
