Inside has been on my backlog for the longest time and I had very high hopes for it considering how it’s on many ‘top games’ lists and how many gamers praise it after finishing it and although I did enjoy the game overall, I do think it’s slightly overrated. The game has you trying to escape some sort of human experimentation facility whilst trying to avoid gunmen, dogs and things lurking underneath the water and trying to solve environmental puzzles that hinder your progress. As you go further into the game, the stranger things become.
As much fun as I had wearing the silly helmet and controlling hordes of soulless people to copy my every move in order to get things done in hard-to-reach places I did feel like something was missing at the end of my play through. All the hype had me pumped up for something amazing but it just never landed for me. I felt the games predecessor, Limbo was a much better game but that may just be a matter of personal preference. Personally I don’t see myself picking Inside up again but if you like platformers then sure give it a chance. You may like it more than I did.
